Climb & Mountaineer Rock Climbing Instructors
Responsibilities: Rock Climbing Instructors are responsible for working with the Climbing Director to plan rock-climbing expeditions in Western North Carolina for young climbers ranging from beginning to advanced skill levels. Staff will teach campers techniques and skills to maximize their enjoyment of climbing and improve their abilities. Beginning climbers will be introduced to all aspects of climbing and advanced campers can progress to multi-pitch routes and mock leading. The climbing program utilizes our climbing tower, as well as many local natural climbing areas including Looking Glass, Cedar Rock, Linville Gorge, and Rumbling Bald. Staff must work well as a team with three other climbing staff to maintain safety standards, teach campers, and ensure the day-to-day quality of programming. Staff will also serve as cabin counselors and must enjoy living and working in the outdoors and be passionate about inspiring and mentoring children.
Required Qualifications: All staff must be at least 18 years old with one full year after high school. Experience with traditional rock climbing techniques and teaching. CPR and Wilderness First Aid or higher certification.

Dates: Position is from May 30th to August 12th, 2019. In addition, some positions require attendance at a training clinic. Please see our website, www.enf.org, for clinic dates.
Who We Are: Eagle’s Nest Camp is a coed camp over 90 years old, located in the lush mountains of Western North Carolina. Eagle’s Nest Camp provides a joyful, nurturing community where campers finishing kindergarten – 11th grade are treated with respect and compassion. Campers have the opportunity to participate in 1-3 week long sessions which emphasize nature, arts, and community living. Our mission is experiential education for young people, promoting the natural world and the betterment of human character.
