Environment Scheuer Land Management Internship
The 2019 Scheuer Land Management Internship at Mohonk Preserve will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work within our Land Stewardship and Land Protection programs, where they will gain experience with:
• serving the public at our Visitor Center & Contact Stations,
• assisting with general land & facility management activities,
• trail design and maintenance, and
• evaluating our visitor use & experiences.
Special Project: The intern and their supervisor will design a specific management project focusing on our visitor experiences. The project will include a final written deliverable (e.g. report, maps, design plan, survey, etc.), and short oral presentation summarizing the student’s experience and their specific project.
How to ApplyApplication Process Who may apply: Incoming junior and senior undergraduate college students majoring in Recreation; Tourism Management, Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Science, Land and Natural Resource Management, Forestry, or other related fields of study (graduating seniors are not eligible). Ability to hike a minimum of 7 miles and provide personal gear for the day required (rain gear, appropriate clothing, hiking boots). Driver’s license preferred.
