Squid Acres Kennel & DogPaddle Designs seek Dog Mushing Handlers to work full time for the 2012-2013 season.
Must be able to start by September 1st at the latest.
Position lasts until April 2013.
We operate a kennel of 50 racing/expedition huskies and are planning a 2013 Yukon Quest and Iditarod racing teams as well asmid-distance races and several spring expeditions.

This person will be responsible for daily chores, training dogs and more, depending on experience and interest. Experience working with animals necessary, but mushing experience not required. Outdoor and survival skills and experience a must.
Skills in web-design, photography/videography, carpentry and woodworking are highly desired. We also run a high quality sled/kayak building business called DogPaddle Designs and a Fisheries research contracting firm. Help with these business is a possibitly with the right candidate. Internships in one of these areas a possibility as well.
We will be living in remote Alaskan camps from September – January and the Fairbanks area during the racing season. Applicants must be comfortableliving in a remote setting with little outside contact.
Must be hard working, able to work independently,
and with a team at all hours of the dayin cold, dark situations with a smile.
