Full-Time Wilderness Therapist
Description:
NVW is currently seeking applicants for Full-Time Wilderness Therapist. Wilderness Therapist is
the primary therapist responsible for overseeing clinical care of NVW clients. Wilderness Therapist
may work up to 4-days a week or more in the wilderness including overnights. This position may
work in all NVW programs (Quest, Milestone, Family, School, and 1:1.) This is an exciting and
unique opportunity to work in alternative therapeutic intervention with a growing agency.
Responsibilities:
Wilderness Therapist are responsible for clinical intake, case management, individual and group
therapy, post-trip clinical summaries and all related paperwork. Wilderness Therapist may carry a
caseload of up to 5 clients during extended expeditions.
Responsibilities also include direct care and supervision of clients, completion of daily paperwork,
weekly planning of group activities.
Requirements:
Masters degree required. State Licensed preferred. 21+ years old. Minimum of one year
experience working in the field with at-risk youth, or comparable experience. Certified
Wilderness First Responder preferred. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds for extended durations.
Excellent leadership skills. Strong communication skills. Creative with excellent problem solving
skills.
Must be able to pass a Background Criminal Investigation. Must hold a valid driver’s license with
clean driving record.

may work up to 4-days a week or more in the wilderness including overnights. This position will
work in all NVW programs (Adolescent Outdoor, Family, School, and 1:1.) This is an exciting and
unique opportunity to work in alternative therapeutic intervention with a growing agency.
