Water Assistant Director, Reservationists, and Logistician
Job Description
Qualifications: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Customer service background with the ability to provide excellent customer relations via phone and email with an emphasis on encouraging reservations. Previous office experience with strong computer skills and the ability to keep accurate records. Good work ethic with team oriented skills. Dynamic personality, detail oriented, responsible, mature, and safety conscious. Able to work smoothly with the public and fellow staff even when unforeseen events occur. Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
Duties: Assist with all aspects of office administration and field program support. Telephone duties include providing information, taking reservations, etc. Other office duties include email communications, record keeping, staff scheduling, etc. Logistical support includes occasional shuttling of vehicles to beaches and/or purchase or preparation of supplies for overnight tours. If physically capable, occasionally assisting guides with moving kayaks or gear. Pay during the first two weeks orientation period shall be $13.50/hr. If performance proves to be acceptable, pay will then be increased to $15.50/hr. Further pay raises are possible in accordance with performance improvements and greater responsibilities. Averages 40 hours per week over the season from April/May through September; potential part time in October. Shorter-term positions are also available.
Depending on your background and interests, this position may offer the chance to become a part-time sea kayak guide in addition to office work.
