This position will focus on direct community impact, staff supervision, and high-level partnership building. The ideal candidate will have experience with both project and budget management, as well as a proven track record in community engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
With support from regional and national staff, work to build a robust sober active community in Austin, TX and surrounding communities
Supervise Austin team
Build partnerships with the local fitness community, government and other relevant local organizations
Spearhead local fundraising efforts, including private donations, grants, peer-to-peer fundraising, corporate sponsorships, and capital campaigns
Build a strong base of volunteers who will lead the majority of Phoenix events
Oversee general daily administrative needs and tasks of the Austin, TX chapter and monitor program, facility, and equipment standards
Facilitate events (fitness, outdoor activities, etc.) in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment
Assist with the online presence of the chapter
Complete other duties as assigned
Work evening and weekend hours as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people from all walks of life
Program management and supervisory experience
Community relation skills and willingness to initiate introductions with potential partners
Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, and integrity
Organizational and time management skills, as well as adaptability
Proficiency with technology
Experience with budget management
PREFERENCES
Lived experience as a peer in recovery
Experience coaching, instructing, or leading events or classes such as socials, runs, mountain bike rides, CrossFit, or yoga
Certifications in relevant athletic disciplines (CF-L1, L2, or L3; NASM, NSCA, ACSM, or ACE Personal Trainer; AMGA-CWI, SPI, or Rock Guide; IMBA-L1; YT-200, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree
Fluency in two or more languages
