Job Description
Joining the Glacier Peak Institute team is a unique opportunity to work in outdoor education and recreation in a beautiful mountain community! Enveloped in the heart of the Cascade Mountains, Glacier Peak Institute (GPI) empowers youth, community, and ecosystems to prosper and cultivate a shared resilient future through action-based outdoor education. GPI provides STrEaMs based education to rural youth (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math experienced through recreation and art to gain skills) as well as operating workforce programs and volunteer opportunities in trail building, forestry, restoration and recreation.
Work with a team providing logistical, promotional, coordination, development and teaching support for Glacier Peak Institute and WSU Snohomish County Extension educational programs, classes, workshops and events. This individual will manage the Outdoor Education Workforce Programs. These programs provide jobs for high school students and young adults, with the goal of learning various outdoor skills such as forestry-related skills and raft guiding.
This is a full time 6-month position with the opportunity to extend depending on funding. Pay is $22-$33 depending on experience and benefits provided.
