Compensation – We provide onsite housing and meals for your entire summer! Weekly pay rates start at $400/week; driver’s receive a 2% pay increase. We are hiring Overnight Camp Instructors for our two Colorado Overnight Camp locations:
Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12) in Bailey, CO
Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1-5) in Evergreen, CO – limited positions available (must be a Biking or Climbing Specialist)
Instructors are the cornerstone of our team, providing support, mentorship, and instruction to our campers with enthusiasm and passion. Instructors provide 24-hour care for our campers and act as their primary support while in cabin, on/off property, on expeditions, and more. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to make a lasting impact for dozens of campers this summer.
In this role you will:
Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities.
Co-lead an activity group of up to 13 campers through outdoor activities including: mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUPing and Leave No Trace principles.
Guide an overnight experience, ranging from an 1-night overnight onsite to a 5-day backpacking trip.
Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals.
Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities.
Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants.
Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.
Job Requirements
Only driver positions available. Camp drivers must be at least 21 years old at the start of camp and possess a valid driver’s license.
By the start of camp training, must have an active CPR and First Aid certification. All available positions at both camp locations require a Wilderness First Aid (WFA, WFR, EMT, or W-EMT) certification by the start of camp.
1+ years of experience working at a resident camp is preferred but not required.
Truly enjoys working with kids! Comfortable with the hours and supervision expectations of overnight camps.
Work Schedule
Resident camps are a 24/7 operation. The resident camp leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week.
Mandatory training begins May 24 – May 28 (position depending). Programs begin June 11 and run through August 5.
